READING IS CRITICAL TO SCHOOL SUCCESS!

Reading is the crucial component that links all subjects in an individual's education. Here at ISB, we have students who read an enormous amount. It is not surprising that these same students also excel in many other areas, such as sports, school leadership, performing arts etc. We should celebrate the incredible time and effort that these students put into their love of reading and the time that they set aside in order to develop this critical skill. They inspire us all to take time out for a good book and enjoy great literature!

As Mr. L says, “A child's success as a reader begins much earlier than the first day of school or formal schooling. Reading, and a love for reading, begins at home. A great way to spend time with our children is reading. All our students at ISB have an on-line account with RAZ Kids. Next time you’re looking for a fun-filled family activity, why not try out reading a book? Our Lower School Library has more than 6,000 books to choose from, too!

Reading can be a time for the whole family. Check out these web pages for more ideas on how to make reading a family event each and every day!”
